Jobs for 13 Year Olds: 9 Ways to Make Extra Money for the Holidays

December 2nd, 2013 by jobsforkids

Hiya Teens!

Are you looking for ways to make extra money for the holidays?

Check out these quick jobs for 13 year olds to make money online in your spare time….

Here’s 9 ways to put some cash in your pocket:

1) Surveys & Trial Offers You can fill out surveys or trial offers on sites like FusionCash or CashCrate. When I was using Fusion Cash on a daily basis back in 2007, I made $134.50 in three weeks.

2) Sell on Craigslist. Pick out 10 to 20 items around your house that you can sell for $5.00 or more, and start listing them on Craigslist. It’s free to list stuff for sale, and they give you up to four photos to upload for free. I highly recommend putting photos in your listing. Two years ago, my wife and I sold a ton of furniture and home accessories all on Craigslist, because we didn’t want to move a bunch of stuff that we weren’t in love with.

3) Resell on eBay. This is a little risky, but I saw that Wal-Mart is selling a playstation 3 for $399 plus a $100 gift card with the purchase. If you bought the playstation, resold it on ebay, you’d only be out the tax. You would have a $100 gift card to spend on gifts at Wal-Mart. Be careful on this one. Only buy something that you know you can resell for the same amount of money.

4) Do Some Odd Jobs. Do your parents’ own a carpet cleaner? Print out fifty fliers and stick them in the doors around your neighborhood. If you get five jobs out of it, you’ll make a few hundreds bucks for the holidays. Do you love dogs? Put out some fliers to start walking your neighbor’s dogs.

5) House or Pet Sit over Thanksgiving. Many people go out of town for Thanksgiving and they hate knowing that their house is just sitting there. Solicit your services to watch their house or pet. You can also water their plans and take in their mail.

6) Start Blog Writing Online. It will take too long to start making any money from starting your own blog. Christmas will have come and gone long before you earn a few bucks. Instead, start writing for someone else’s blog. Check out Problogger Job Board for tons of different paid blog writing jobs. Pick a subject that you are passionate about.

7) Perform a Research Study. I know, you don’t want to be a lab rat, but if you live near a research university or hospital, they might have chances to make $500 to $2,000 participating in a study. I did three studies when I was in college, and I made a total of $1,900 doing them! I am still here, and I haven’t grown a third arm yet.

8) Make Crafts for Sale. Christmas time is the peak season for all things involved with crafts. If you are crafty, then start making Christmas ornaments, embroidered kitchen towels, wall hangings, door decorations, and anything else you can think of. You don’t even have to purchase a booth at a local fair or craft expo you can sell your items online at Etsy.com.

Make Extra Money

9 Ways to Make Extra Money for the Holidays

You can earn an extra $50 when you sign up for a TradeKing account or a ShareBuilder account and make a trade by the end of the month. They give you $50 for trying out their service, although it won’t cover your whole gift budget it should be enough to pay for at least one present.

There are a tons of different ways to make money, but it takes some effort on your part. All you need is a little bit of drive and creativity to earn extra money. Do you have any other ideas to share with everyone? If so, I’d love to hear your ideas!

Online Jobs for 13 Year Olds: Make $500 a Month Selling Used Textbooks

November 5th, 2013 by jobsforkids
1

Hiya Teens!

How would you like an easy online jobs for 13 year olds to make a quick $500 bucks a month?

It takes a little work, but you CAN easily make $500 a month or more selling used textbooks.

6 Steps to Get Started:

1) Look for used textbooks on eBay auctions

2) Enter the ISBN number (right next to the UBC) from the book on http://bookscouter.com/ to find out how much the book is worth and which company will pay the most to buy the book from you.

You want to make sure you’ll make a profit before you buy the book to resell. Don’t forget to add any shipping cost if any.

3) Buy books where you make a minimum of $4 or more profit

4) Make sure the books you buy are in good condition. If there are ripped pages or severe damage to the cover, you won’t be able to sell it.

5) Pack the books carefully when shipping.

6) Be careful of how you accept payment. Paypal charges fees so this should be deducted from your profit

If you can average a $4-$5 dollar profit margin on each book, you only need to buy 4 books everyday to pocket an extra $500 dollars each month!

Since there are over a million textbook auctions on Ebay right now, it shouldn’t be too hard to find 4 books a day to resell.

Good luck making money selling used textbooks!

Jobs for 13 Year Olds: Get Paid to Go To a Movie Premiere!

November 3rd, 2013 by jobsforkids

Hiya Teens!

Do you like going to the movies? Then I want to share with you one of my favorite jobs for 13 year olds to make some extra money.

Who wouldn’t want to go to Pirates of the Caribbean 4?!! And get paid $10-20 dollars an hour.

Jobs for 13 Year Olds: Get Paid to Go to Movie Premieres

Jobs for 13 Year Olds: Get Paid to Go to Movie Premieres

Theaters and movie studios are extremely interested in collecting data about the audience that attends their movie premieres.

They want to know how many people attend opening day, what screening time is most popular, and what previews are being shown.

The industry has outsourced this data collection to a few private firms and, in turn, those films hire regular movie-goers to spend a few minutes collecting the information and reporting back.

The good news is that one such firm is currently hiring and it’s pretty easy to get started. They are known as “in-theater checks” and Certified Field Associates is one of the largest such firms in the United States and Canada.

The application is simply a few questions and nearly everyone is eligible to be hired.

Once hired, all you have to do is watch the online list of assignments for a movie you want to preview. Then assign yourself to that project and wait for your letter from CFA to present to the theatre for free admission.

You’ll be hired to do either:

1) •Patron counting – these assignments require that you stand directly outside of a specific theater and count the number of people who enter the movie. You are usually asked to count the patrons for several show-times in a given premiere night.

2) •Preview watching – these assignments will require that you document the specific previews that were shown before a movie premiere.

And the best part?

You can make between $10-20 per hour, watch a free movie on Friday or Saturday night, and even bring a guest for free!

Have fun getting paid to go to a movie premiere! Popcorn not included :-(

I Need Money! 10 Jobs for 13 Year Olds To Make Money Fast

October 29th, 2013 by jobsforkids
1

Hiya Teens!

Are you looking for some fast jobs for 13 year olds to make money? Maybe you want some Christmas money? Or shopping money? Whatever reason you need to make money…

Here Are 10 Ways You Can Make Money Fast:

1.) Sell some of your things – you could list them online or take them into a second hand consignment store. Or if you prepare a little you could have a garage sale. Try places like eBay, Craigslist, Gumtree (UK), or even free or inexpensive online local classified newspaper ads.

2.) Mow or rake someone’s lawn – If you have a lawn mower and whipper snipper/edger you could easily make $30 – $60 mowing someone’s lawn. It is a bit of physical work, but is great exercise at the same time as making money.

3.) Babysit – You could offer to babysit someone’s children for $10 – $20 an hour. How much you charge can vary depending on how long you are looking after the children as well as how many there are.

4.) Ironing – Lots of people hate doing it and some weeks there seems to be no time. Most people who iron professionally get fairly booked with regulars. You could do a basket for a friend for $20 as a casual thing, instead of doing it as a regular business.

5.) Busking – [also known as Street Performing] If you have a talent such as making balloon animals, magic tricks or something similar, if laws allow where you are you could busk in a busy area. Be prepared to work long and hard as many people watch, but not everyone tips.

6.) Cleaning – you can charge per job such as $25 for an oven, $50 to clean a garage, or charge $20 per hour. You just need a few basic cleaning supplies such as scrubbing brushes, cloths, bleach and multi-purpose cleaner.

7.) Sell baked goods – Bake some cookies or cupcakes to sell to family and friends. Check the legalities in your area for selling food items from your home. If you are allowed to sell from your kitchen in your area, you could look at selling baked goods at a market. My mother did this with fruit pies, slices and homemade chocolates. She presented everything nicely in cellophane and sold out within 3 hours. She made a few hundred dollars too.

8.) Sell garden stuff – Pot up herbs or cut flowers from your garden to sell at markets, or pop a sign out the front of your house saying you have plants for sale. You could also put an ad online. You can possibly get spare plastic pots from nurseries or landscapers to use for potting up your seedlings. One salon I used to work at had a lady come every week with bunches of cut flowers from her garden for $10. She was very popular and always had a great variety. So think outside your immediate friends and family.

9.) Odd jobs – things like cleaning out gutters, raking leaves, pulling weeds and the like that people don’t want to do can be quick and easy ways to make some money. The things that need to be done, but are often forgotten are great services to offer. You might get a little dirty, but the grosser a job is, the more you can usually charge.

10.) Sell your services on Fiverr.com – Fiverr is a site where you can post your services for sale for $5 ea. It is up to you what you choose to offer, and you may need to promote yourself a little bit to actually make a sale. You could create blog buttons, do a little admin work or anything else easily done online. Have a look at the site for ideas.

So think outside the square a little, look at what equipment or tools you have at your disposal, as well as how much time, then go to work.

To get the word out that you are offering work this week you can use your own blog, if you have one, otherwise use Facebook, Twitter and other social media, as well as emailing or calling friends and family. Whilst the people you think of might not need the work, they might know someone who does, and be willing to pass your details along. Otherwise, put some flyers up around your community and deliver some in letterboxes.

Good luck!
Sonja

Top 5 Survey Sites to Make Extra Cash

October 28th, 2013 by jobsforkids
1

Hiya teens!

I get emails all the time asking me to fill out a survey for cash. But it’s getting harder and harder to make money filling out surveys online.

Filling out online surveys can be a little time consuming, but my recommendation is to signup for all 5 survey sites at once. This way, you’ll probably be able to do 1 or 2 surveys a month. Plus, you’ll get a ton of surveys to choose from each month.

Complete all of the surveys you’re offered each month and you could probably earn $50 or more each month.

So Here Are the Top 5 Survey Sites To Get Started On:

1. Pinecone Research - This is my personal favorite survey site. They have a good amount of surveys, but what’s unique about this company is that you get paid cash after every survey you take. There’s no minimum to cash-out (pays via Paypal).

The surveys pay $3 for each one completed. This open to anyone in the US, but there are apparently a ton of surveys right now if you’re Hispanic or 18-24 years of age.

2. CashCrate I’ve made some easy money signing up for trial offers on their site. They also offer 1-2 daily surveys for 50 cents. It’s not a ton of money, but they don’t take a lot of time either.

3. Inbox - This survey site is a lot like CashCrate. They have both offers you can complete for cash and a daily survey for around 50 cents

4. SurveySpot - This company pays up to $5 per survey and the minimum cashout is only $5. So therefore, it’s not hard at all to earn enough to get a check.

They also offer a $10,000 quarterly prize to one survey panelist.

5. My Survey - With this company you earn points for every single survey you take- even those which you don’t qualify for (just by answering the qualifying questions)! So you will never waste time and effort on a survey only to discover you don’t qualify.

You can redeem your points earned for cash or prizes and every 1000 points equals $10.

Babysitting Jobs for 13 Year Olds – Be Careful!

May 21st, 2013 by jobsforkids
52

Hiya Teens!

So you want to get a babysitting job this summer? Have you put up flyers? Told family and friends you’re available?

Maybe you’re thinking about putting an ad in your local newspaper or on Craig’s List or online?

BE CAREFUL…

This is what happened when my daughter, Maria, put an online ad in our little town newspaper.

She got a text from a man named “Eddie”. He asked her a few questions and told her he would pay $2,000 a month for a nanny.

Sounds good, right?!?

Then he emailed her and told her that his wife died of cancer…his daughter is 5 years old…he is out of town on business…she would be working with his sister (who just got married in London)…blah, blah, blah.

Then he told her “you’re hired!” and asked her to meet him and his “sister” at the airport!!

This man was obviously NOT a father and definitely a predator.

Thankfully, Maria did not meet this man and told him to stop contacting her.

So PLEASE be careful when applying for babysitting jobs. Make sure you meet potential parents with your parents before deciding to take any babysitting job.

Good luck and be careful!

Best,
Sonja
